Realizing that it was Christmas time and the airports would be backed up because of the snow storm, we left in what we thought was plenty of time. However, when we got there we found out there was something wrong with the new flight information they had given us, so we had to stand in line behind a bunch of idiots to wait to be helped by one of the worn out customer service reps. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some people can be. So, after standing in line FOREVER, we finally got our boarding passes printed and ran through security. Luckily, the lines weren't that bad. We got to our gate with 10 minutes to spare. The first flight to St. Paul was not so bad. Kenna was tired, but managed to take a couple of cat naps. When we landed we decided to go find a big blanket to spread on the airport floor so that Kenna could roll around for at least a part of our 4 hour layover. We found the ugliest flannel moose blanket ever made and camped out for a while. Kenna liked how soft the blanket was and kept laying her face on it. It was pretty cute. I'm pretty sure we looked like hobos though. All the people who walked by without kids laughed at us. All the people who walked by with kids looked jealous. Kenna had a breakdown just as we boarded the plain for Salt Lake and we spend the entire flight trying to make her sleep. You'd think it would be easy to do with a baby, but not ours.
We finally made it out to Utah on Wednesday after 11 hours in airports and on plains and had a great time with Kenzies family. We had a "light" brunch at Rodezios on Christmas Eve followed by some quality bonding time on the Wii playing Bomber Man and Mario Cart. Christmas day was a lot of fun. Kenna woke up bright and early and we ready to go back to sleep by the time we started Christmas so she opened all her presents after everyone else. Incidentally, she was much more interested in the wrapping paper and plastic than the actual toys. I now understand why the include the warnings about not letting your kids play with the plastic. We got some great loot. Nate got Kenzie a very pretty necklace. Kenzie got Nate a piece of paper and a bag of M&Ms. Actually, Kenzie tried very hard to find a game that Nate had been asking for called Squint, but couldn't find it anywhere, so she ordered it from Amazon and wrapped up the receipt.
The rest of the trip was a blast. We ate at Cafe Rio, then Rodezios, then Cafe Rio, then Rodezios... Santa brought us a whole bunch of new board games to try so we spent lots of time sitting around the kitchen table attempting to beat Papa Young in all the games that we had taught him. Turns out that the old man is pretty good at board games and he ended up taking us to school a couple times.
We got to meet up with some friends in Provo, go to the BYU Bookstore, visit the Quilted Bear (that was actually my idea....true story) and we even managed to find our half-legal alien pilot friend from Tonga!
Luckily, we got out of Salt Lake even though there was snow coming down. We did sit on the runway de-icing and waiting for plows for an hour and a half though. Needless to say, Kenz and I are a bit tired of traveling. If anyone wants to see us in the next few months, they have to fly or drive to Richmond. We had a great Christmas and we are really lucky to have such great family to spend it with.

Fa and Kenna are adorable. You can tell him I said that. Papa Young must have hat a rough year. He's going to slit his son's throat in one picture and shoot Santa in the nex!. Remind me not to get on his bad side!
We are a little behind on our commenting! We LOVED that you posted your crazy neighbors house. We were waiting for that picture. We also like seeing all the stuff you did for Christmas too. Thanks for sharing!
