We celebrated Callie's birthday in style. Both girls were sick and cried all day. Callie ended up going to the doctor where she was given medicine for an ear infection. We decided to just gloss over that day and pretend it didn't happen. We celebrated the next day and it was a great day. We had Jarom and Lix over for cupcakes and the big kids helped Callie break in her new toys.
Since we've already had a one year old girl we didn't really know what to get her. Grandma got her a monkey for her bed. It play soft music and nature sounds and lights up when you squeeze it. She loves that and every time I go into her room it is playing. We got her some maracas which she loves and some Melissa and Doug produce that she can chew on.
-Callie is always smiling. All you have to do is smile at her and even if she is grumpy she opens her mouth and gives you a huge smile. Sometimes if you're lucky she will throw her head back and grin or giggle.
-Recently Callie has taken to carrying around Kenna's play spoon and plate. She will put it down and go play with other toys but will come back to it and pick it up.
-Callie is so excited to see you in the morning that she can't stand it. She just puts her head down and crawls all around the crib like a blind dog.
-Like Kenna, she could swing for hours. She could also be pushed in the running stroller for hours as long as she has her water and cup of cheerios.
-She is so, so, so sweet and she is very patient with Kenna who loves on her often.
-Any time you are bringing her down from her crib she looks over the banister to see who is down in the living room. She gets very concerned if she can't see or hear someone and will crane even harder to find them. If she sees someone she will sometimes call "ah" louder and louder until you answer.
-She loves her Pooh Bear piano and will play the music then flap her arms, bounce and nod her head to dance to it. She knows right where it is on the toy shelf and can get it by herself.
-She thinks it is hilarious when you hand her something and the pull it away from her just before she can grab it. If you do this a few times in a row you can get her giggling pretty hard.
-She doesn't say much but she has adopted the word more. She say "uh muh muh muh muh muh" until you give her what she wants. It pretty much only refers to food. She can also say "ma ma ma ma" for mom. We can't get her to say 'da da da' for anything.
-She will eat grapes and watermelon by the pound. I'm not really sure that she stops to chew them. She just inhales them. We have also recently discovered that she loves blueberries. She also eats black beans, peas, string cheese, cottage cheese, avocados and baked potatoes. She hates baby food and if she can put it in her mouth she will eat it. She's tried broccoli, salmon, chicken and pretty much everything we eat for dinner.
-She loves to climb up the play slide, grinning her huge open mouthed smile when she finally makes it. She has just gotten good at getting to the top.
-She hates having her diaper changed and screams and immediately tries to flip over when you lay her down. She also hates having her hair fixed and has learned that if she leans her head straight back to look at me that I can't get to it.

-She has started to drink out of the faucet 'a la Kenna'
-She can walk between furniture but when you try to get her to walk to you she takes one step then falls toward you, certain you will catch her.
-She knows when she has your attention and when she is able to keep it she will do something to impress you like stand up by herself then smile and clap because she knows she did something impressive.
-Sometimes in the morning while I'm giving her her bottle she randomly starts clapping, slowly at first then getting faster like she is testing it out to see if she still remembers how to do it.
-When she's really happy and has been giggling a lot she makes this cute 'ah-gee' sound.
-She crawls around and mops up all leftovers off the kitchen floor.
-She has been taught to scream in short bursts just like her sister does. They were both doing it in the car one day and she literally sounds exactly like Kenna.
-She loves music and will bob her head if she hears any kind of rhythm.
-She LOVES to go bye-bye (she actually says 'uh buh buh buh buh') and will cry if she sees everyone walk out of the door without her. If you tell her you're going bye-byes she will crawl over to the door and try to open it.
