Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We have managed to stay busy this month.  Last week school ended so we ended up getting Grandma Dawnene to come down and hang out for a week.  The girls were in heaven and Kenzie was so excited to finally be able to do all the fun things that she has been waiting for months to do, like going to the optometrist, dentist, doctor, and all the other fun places she doesn't get to go anymore because of her rug rats.  We packed a lot of action into grandma's trip and made sure that she got to go to Gattitown (like Chuckee Cheese), swimming, shopping, and lots of other fun activities.  It was a blast to have her around.
With the kids distracted by grandma's visit, I was able to finish the laundry pedestals I have been working on.  I found a good design from a DIY site and got to work.  We have been trying to re-do the laundry room and had to paint and remove some old cabinets to get things the way we like them.  We decided to go with building laundry pedestals because they are cheaper than the 200 buck ones you buy at the store and we can fit laundry baskets underneath of these ones.  They turned out really well.  Now we just have to install a sink in there and get some cabinets and a wall-hung drying rack and we are in business.
The highlight of the weekend was a trip to see the Frisco Rough Riders baseball team.  Tyler (my college roommate) was actually in town for a deposition so we met up for some pizza and then drug him along with us to the baseball game.  We had some other friends meet us up there and we had a great time.  The cheap seats in Frisco are actually not even seats - you have to bring a blanket and lay on the grass to watch the game.  That did not damper the mood at all though and Kenna was happy with her water ice and lemonade.  It was a fantastic evening of hanging out and enjoying our Texas life, heat and all.
