She Spits Like a Camel

Kenna is turning into quite the picky eater. She won't eat vegetables (not even sweet potatoes, which she used to love). She won't eat that disgusting baby food meat (can't say I blame her). She has even started to refuse some of the fruits I give her. She's not doing so hot with the bottles either. She'll take maybe four ounces every other feeding time. So, that leaves us with baby yogurt and baby oatmeal mixed with prunes...and even those she will only eat sometimes. She has learned that when she doesn't want to eat something she can spit it back out at me. I know I shouldn't laugh, but sometimes I can't help myself, which makes her spit more...

Visitors from the North

Jarom and Alixa recently bought a very cute house nearby. Between the crazy snowstorms we've been having, Bruce and Nancy braved the trek down so they could see the new house and their grandbabies (mostly the grandbabies). They got here Friday afternoon and after seeing the house we went to Cheesecake Factory...mmm. We did a lot of hanging out in a very little time. They had to leave Saturday morning after a trip to Mimi's (our waiter Gary no longer works there) and Babies R Us. We had a great time and now that Jarom and Lixi are here we figure they will come to visit twice as often.

Grandma bought Kenna some new shoes. They were a little too big, but very cute. Kenna didn't like them on her feet because they were heavy, but she did enjoy pulling them off and chewing on them.

This is the face she has started to make whenever she sees the camera...

and again...

She is Wearin' that Hat!

So, when we were in Utah for Christmas, I lost Kenna's hat somewhere. I was really sad because I LOVED it. I wanted to go to Quilted Bear for some bows and while I was there I found a hat. Nate thinks it is ridiculous. I think it is adorable...other people agree with me. We were at Target and one of the ladies working there goes "Mmm...she is wearin' that hat!"

New Favorite Toys

Kenna found a computer mouse I left sitting on the floor outside her room. It is her new favorite. It goes with us to church and everything. She can be entertained by it for HOURS. Throw in an electrical cord of some kind and she is the happiest baby alive. I have also discovered she likes my make-up. I keep it on the floor in front of my full length mirror along with a brush, hair dryer and straightener. One day she managed to get over there and dump my make-up bag. Once again, she was thrilled. Whenever I need to shower I just put here there in front of that stuff and she is content. (I haven't taken pictures of it yet, but I will.)

Little Things

We haven't done that much of note in the past week. We sat around waiting for snow to melt, got more snow, hung out with Jarom and Lixi a little bit, and enjoyed hanging out with our baby. Even though it may seem like we didn't do that much, it is really the little things in life that make it so fun.

Doughnuts. Not just any doughnuts, the special ones that my work friend brings in. They come from a bakery that does not normally make chocolate covered doughnuts. In fact, they usually just bake cakes for weddings and whatnot. But she sweet talked them in to throwing chocolate on there once and now they let her have it every time. Whenever she brings them to work, I always make sure that I take one home to Kenzie. Homegirl loves a good doughnut. They have become so revered in our household that I take good care of them whenever I bring some home.

Kenna is finally big enough to sit in the cart and now she is a full fledged Walmart baby. She loves taking trips to the store and does a great job chewing on anything we buy!
I am also getting promoted in the home and every once in a while Kenzie trusts me enough to feed the bambino. The results are always awful and I get more food on her face than in her mouth, but it is lots of fun.

We also got tons of snow. Richmond is not really equipped to handle it so it has been fun to sit back and watch, and in some cases drive in....

I also started playing basketball with Jarom lately. I say basketball, but it really should be called Zion-ball. There are no winners or losers and fouls are of the devil. I fouled out of the Church league on the first game as the opposite team whined that I was fouling all game long. Even Jarom has lovingly been called a "dictator" for telling others in pickup games that they must call their own fouls. One extreme guy who obviously took rules very seriously in his life invested the effort to count Jarom's fouls in a game to 9. When Jarom got his fourth foul the over-Zionious dude says "One more and you are out". That's right, fouling out in a pickup game to 9. Silly Mormons. It is great to play some basketball again even if the Winn boys are labeled as too aggressive or physical. I am pretty sure that the Bruceman would shed a tear or two if he could see his boys making the other Mormons mad for their physical approach to the game....

Life is grand here in Richmond. It is great having extra Winn's in Richmond and we are glad that they decided to come around. Parenting is going well - the child has survived for seven months and it looks as though we can keep her going for another 209 months and then we are no longer legally obligated to do so..

And Kenna loves wind flapping in her face.
